Studio Makeover & Studio Tour 2022

Over the winter (after Christmas market season) I usually take a break from making jewelry. This winter, I used that time to give my jewelry studio a makeover.

When I first started silversmithing, I used the furniture I already had in our house (except for my bench which I constructed myself from 2x4s and plywood). At first this was fine and I was able to organize everything using table top organizers and tiny bins. Eventually, my tool and small parts grew to the point that table top storage looked too cluttered and they could not be adequately stored in the large cabinet storage I had available.

This winter it reached a tipping point which convinced me I needed to replace the furniture. Once I had emptied that side of the room, I realized that the wall texture and lack of colour also bothered me, so I should fix that too since the furniture was out of the way.

Some youtubing later, I learned how to remove the weird texture from the wall. Some paint, new furniture, and some pegboard later: voila!
